It enables an organisation, directly or indirectly involved in the food chain, to implement a system that provides products and services that are safe according to their intended use. Additionally, it ensures compliance with applicable legislative and regulatory requirements for food safety, as well as compliance with mutually agreed customer requirements. It is considered the most recognised and widely used quality standard worldwide.

IFS Food version 7

It is a standard that emerged as a product of cooperation between the German Retail Association (HDE) and the French Retail Federation (FCD).

It is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). It places particular emphasis on quality policy, resource management, planning and production processes, quality measurements and analyses, food defence and third party inspections. In addition, it contains increased requirements regarding compliance with customer specifications.


The Superior Taste Award is an award open to any consumer food or beverage product.

It has been organised annually since 2005 by the International Taste Institute, which specialises in the sensory evaluation and certification of consumer food and beverage products. The products are tested by a team of professional chefs and sommeliers following a unique methodology. Thanks to the jury of leading culinary experts, the Superior Taste Award is widely recognized in the food & beverage industry and is perhaps the world's most prestigious taste certification.
